NEW! Patient Zero: Outtakes & Outbreaks
6 scrapped beats & loops off the cutting room floor, that would otherwise gather dust forever!
"Daydream" Music Video

dearly beloved,
i've been way too fucking busy wrapping up this semester to really just sit down and knock out some tracks. i have however made significant upgrades to my "studio," i.e. that corner in my room. an actual desktop pc, the shittiest stereo speakers i've ever heard in my life, and my midi keyboard up and running. got Massive, and i'm gonna be tearing that soft synth 12 shades of new assholes. plus, i got my hands on the Vengeance sample cd's, and i plan to mangle the fuck out of those electro-ibizacore-house samples into dark and twited aural acid trips.
so look out for some sneak peaks this summer! Patient Zero is gonna flip the script on all the little "rules" of hiphop. expect an incredible focus on composition rather than just loops. guitars, synths, theremins, kazoos... on some avant-garde shit. tempo will become just a number, 4/4 structure just another fraction in the mad hatter hat that i wear.
heed my word: genres will be bent, women sexified, ears bled.
best,
yun.

it's entitled Patient Zero. i'm looking to drop it towards the end of this year, so i'll be sure to keep busy.
content-wise, i have like 1 song done. i'm staring at it on my desktop right now. a shit ton of ideas down, and plenty more in the works. tons of wacky experimental sounds a la Automatic Panic coming your way, as well as some actual real instruments! (hopefully). it may have some features from your favorite NG rappers, maybe even a posse cut. this thing's in its infancy though, so that'll all be sorted out soon.
also, the whole kicker about this album is: it will cost $0.00! that's 100% cheaper than the next leading producer! i'm hoping to drop it under a creative commons license or something, so the biters can sink their little shark teeth into my shit, remix me, sample me, whatever. probably'll have to make a .zip with all the FLPs or something.
but yeah, that's about it, be on the lookout, some tracks might leak on my page for some reason, wink wink.
best,
yun

album cover finished. yay.
2/25/09:
if any of you guys are into snowboarding or indie films, check out It's Cold, We're Cold, a documentary featuring music by yours truly and my boy warspawn.
also, got like 10 song ideas right now, most of them loops. my creativity is being a bitch at the moment, hopefully that'll change. oh, and i'm on soundclick now, for some reason: http://www.soundclick.com/yunveroz
Patient Zero - Session 1

it's entitled... nothing, as of yet. I want to have the word "Deluxe" somewhere in it, though. be sure to peep the little preview of the imprint on the CD label, it's on some vintage vinyl shit. i'm looking to drop it towards the end of this year, so i'll be sure to keep busy.

Yeah man, that fucker hasn't released any new tracks in weeks, if not months. Well, I've been busy with life, because it's a bitch. But in about 2 weeks I'll be back to normal, able to live happily and produce more and more music.
That doesnt mean I haven't been putting in work. That new sound I promised a long long time ago? It's been growing up quite quick. The name of the game is progressiveness, and I'm aiming for the high score, bitches.
So what can you expect? Expect every little rule and standard you ever knew about hiphop to be thrown completely the fuck out the window. More to come soon! 2 WEEKS!

Best president-elect ever.
Also, cool tutorial for vocal processing:

Furthermore, you all suck. I'm gonna go barricade myself in my house while I invent the next greatest song ever made. K bye

i think i've found that sound i've been looking for.
it's the sound of your friend neighborhood sabertooth tearing a synthesizer to shreds in a haunted house, while casper and kids look on in horror. and you can rap to it, too.
be on the lookout for something big. possibly in the form of a posse cut. and wack instrumentals with sounds you've never even heard before. and hell, maybe some sampling tossed in to the mix.

college is a bitch. i'm switchin out of engineering to a business degree that will pretty much do the same thing for me in the end. more time for production, anyway!
in other news, warspawn and i are trying to ramp up our shit, push envelopes and all that good stuff. we will be samplers till we die, but we might just branch out a bit and start working with artists we typically wouldnt work with. in reality, we wouldn't really work with anyone else because we're both antisocial, but whatever. be on the look out for some new shit.
i hope people have enjoyed the last few tracks i posted, especially the ones going back to wu-tang, lo-fi basics. after listening to "36 chambers" and "return to the 36 chambers" for months on end, shit starts sounding too clean. i dont expect it to change anytime soon. ironically enough, while the kids are listening to new, clean, fresh sounding hits on the radio, i'm going backwards and trying harder and harder to make stuff sound dirty.
for now, my lyrical debut is on hold indefinitely, the current plan is to just write for 2 or 3 years straight while focusing on producing.
hopefully, me n spawn can make a whole album together. frankly, today's shit sounds like it comes off an assembly line. same mastering, same sounds, all marketing and no art. funny how the more mainstream sounding artists on this site can actually make art, and the mainstream artists out on the radio can't.
at any rate, expect a step forward and backward in production. rewind 15 years ago, that's where we're headed. marty mcfly wont have shit on us, we will bring back those beats of old and bring the fucking ruckus.
best,
y.v.
